Midway Mediation & Counseling is a small group practice of friendly, skilled clinicians and mediators who provide gender-inclusive individual, marital and family counseling, in English and Spanish, in a safe, warm and inviting outpatient setting. We welcome and have specialists providing services to the LGBTQ+ community. Collectively, we treat depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, ADHD, relationship conflict, life transition due to health concerns, career changes or job loss, divorce, death of a loved one or pandemic losses, domestic violence, grief and high stress, or anger management problems. We specialize in Brainspotting therapy, a short-term, highly effective therapy for resolving recent or past trauma or stressors-no matter the size or intensity-including phobias, grief, abuse, accidents or injuries, chronic pain, anxiety, performance anxiety, OCD, disrupted sleep, to name a few. Brainspotting therapy has helped tens of thousands of people all over the world find relief and significantly alter their lives. Our mediation services include divorce mediation; peer/relationship mediation for siblings, friends, neighbors, co-workers; and parent-adolescent mediation for families in conflict over enforcement of parenting time, curfews, rule violations, school, or other conflicts that interfere with healthy family functioning. We also have a Life Coach on staff who can help you with identifying and accomplishing your short-term and long-term life goals, reducing stress and getting clarity on your future, including career, relationships and emotional well-being.
We serve children, adolescents and adults in McHenry County and the surrounding area for in-person sessions and anyone in the State of Illinois for telehealth or virtual sessions. All races, genders and nationalities welcome!
We have appointments available 6 days a week from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. most days.
For therapy services, we are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Choice, Optum Behavioral Health ( United Healthcare), United Medical Resources, Aetna , Cigna, Oxford, Oscar Health, Self-Pay We offer reduced fee for uninsured or underinsured clients. Mediation services are not covered by insurance and variable fees apply, depending on the type of mediation provided. Please call for more information.
