Credit and Debt Counseling and Education, Mortgage Default and Foreclosure Prevention and Education, Bankruptcy Pre-filing Counseling and Pre-discharge Education, Debt Management Program to repay the unsecured debt at reduced interest and fees, Pre-purchase Housing Education and Counseling to obtain Down Payment Assistance, Student Loan Counseling, and Credit Report Analysis.
CCCS serves anyone who needs assistance with financial matters. CCCS serves McHenry, Lake and Kane Counties, as well as clients from Boone, Winnebago and Southern Wisconsin.
Evenings and Saturdays are available by appointment
There are no restrictions on eligibility.
Initial Credit Counseling: no fee Debt Management Start-up:$50 Monthly DMP fees based on Income Bankruptcy Pre-filing: $50 individual, $75 joint Bankruptcy Pre-Discharge Education: Class: $50 individual, $75 joint, On-Line Course: $40 Individual, $60 Joint Reverse Mortgage Counseling: $125 (can be waived if grant is available) No one is refused service due to inability to pay.
