McHenry County Mental Health Board Announces New Executive Director

The McHenry County Mental Health Board is very pleased to announce Leonetta Rizzi BSN, MS, MBA, has been hired as Executive Director. Leonetta replaces Scott Block, who is now working with the Illinois Supreme Court as the first State Behavioral Health Administrator.

Leonetta has a corporate and behavioral health career spanning more than 37 years, including 15 years managing McHenry County Crisis Services. She brings a diverse skill set and a history of accomplished and effective leadership executing the vision and mission of multiple organizations.

“I understand this community and the challenges that provider agencies, their clients, and families are facing. I am very committed to the provisions under the Community Mental Health Act for the planning, coordinating, monitoring, and funding of an integrated quality system of care for Mental Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Disorder services in McHenry County. This is my passion, and I plan to work through these challenges with all stakeholders to improve lives for McHenry County residents.” – Leonetta Rizzi

The Mental Health Board contracts with more than 30 Network Providers facilitating 60-80 programs annually. Fiscal year 2022 funding awarded for community programs totals $9,215,000. Network functions are coordinated through monthly Network Council and Intake Coordinator meetings, quarterly Quality Management Team meetings, continuous compliance audits, outcomes reporting, and facilitation of clinical reviews.
