Jacqueline & Melissa will lead an informative presentation on how past trauma and persistent stressors impact our physical and emotional health. We will explore how the stress impacts the brain and what behaviors may occur as consequences for both students and school providers. Participants will be encouraged to practice hands-on clinical techniques that are used to mitigate some of the impact and increase optimal functioning in the educational arena.

Objectives:

  1. An introduction to trauma informed treatment will be presented as well as application for school settings.
  2. Participants will better understand how trauma impacts the brain and the behavioral consequences of such.
  3. Working with families will be included
  4. Providers will explore practical tools for decreasing stress that can be utilized in the school setting.
