Join us for a morning of learning and playing. As Dr. Gary Landreth said, “Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” Therapists working with children and adolescents can become more versed and comfortable speaking the language of children. The focus of this workshop will be on integrating play based and expressive strategies into all stages of therapy. From assessment to termination, play and expressive strategies can strengthen rapport, improve your orientation to your client’s worldview and ease the gap between adult language and child language.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn and practice one play based and/or expressive assessment strategy.
  2. Learn how to integrate play based and expressive strategies into clinical interventions.
  3. Be able to articulate how play based and expressive strategies can be used in your own termination process.
