What We Do

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) trains volunteers to advocate in court for abused and neglected children. The Advocate is appointed by the court to be paired with the child during the child's court case. From the time of appointment until the child's case is closed the Advocate meets with the child twice a month, learns about the child's current environment, including the Foster Care or Group Home they are placed in, meets with any therapists, teachers, doctors, natural family members and any other persons the child interacts. The Advocate writes an objective report for the Judge, Caseworker and Attorneys so the child's perspective is heard. The Advocate has a one to one relationship with the child throughout the case.
